Sorry Americans, this is just for us brits, I’m afraid!
I had a wall going spare in the office and I didn’t want it to just be sort of plain because plain is boring.
So I wanted to paint it but I didn’t want to paint it for the sole purpose of making it look nice.
I like things to be functional and so I thought, “why not have a green screen wall?”
Finding the right paint

I first started my green screen wall journey by having a look at loads of different paint.
Now, Dulux apparently do a lot of different paints which are good for chromakeying but most of them haven’t been manufactured for like 20 years.
Apparently there’s one called Green Parrot which works well but I couldn’t find it anywhere.

While I was at Wilko, trying desperately to find a paint that even looksed somewhat similar to the blinding lime-green color we all know and love, I spotted a tin of their own-brand paint which looked pretty close to what I was after.
So, I got it. And it was only £12 so, bonus!
The Result
Now, I had a few issues with the wall which you probably won’t have because I’m an idiot.
I had to smooth out a few cracks in the wall and I did so using some sort of sealant stuff.
I think I used the wrong one because there are patches now on the wall where it’s been painted over and when light hits them they show up white.
However, that’s just my fault because I used the wrong thing so please don’t be discouraged by my idiocy.

But, it does actually work!
That shot was lit using only two softboxes and it does work really well for £12 paint
