A Californian woman’s computer automatically installed Windows 10. And she got $10,000 because of it.
Teri Goldstein won a lawsuit against Microsoft after she claimed the latest version of Microsoft’s Windows operation system – Windows 10 – tried to automatically install on her computer but failed leaving it unusable.
After attempting to fix the problem with Microsoft’s customer support but to no avail, she claimed compensation for damage to her computer and loss of earnings.
Previously a user of Windows 7, Ms Goldstein reportedly told the Seattle Times “I had never heard of Windows 10. Nobody ever asked me if I wanted to update.”
